The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Szlesz tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Szlesz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Szlesz.

Szlesz has clasped his hands together around Blood's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Szlesz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. An inside leg kick lands from Szlesz. Szlesz shoots in but no luck this time. Szlesz misses with a takedown attempt - Blood sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Monika Szlesz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Szlesz scoring well with a low kick there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Szlesz tries to advance to mount but can't. Szlesz happy to just control the position for now.
Monika Szlesz has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Blood looks to score with a jab to the body but Szlesz is just out of range. Monika Szlesz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Szlesz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blood circles away. A momentary lapse in concentration from Blood enables Szlesz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Blood manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Szlesz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Blood has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Szlesz has managed to get both his arms back between Blood's legs - danger averted. Szlesz seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Szlesz stands up from Blood's guard - Szlesz perhaps looking for a knockout. Szlesz tries to clinch but Blood is having none of it.

Blood is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Nice takedown defense from Blood. No joy for Szlesz on that attempt. Szlesz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Blood can do to turn this around? Szlesz lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Blood missing with a left hand there. Szlesz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Blood keeps the fight on the outside. Blood ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Szlesz moves away. Szlesz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Blood manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Szlesz tries to close the distance and clinch but Blood swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Blood misses the shot to the body. Szlesz fails with the takedown. Blood drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Szlesz dives on top into guard. Szlesz looking to pass the guard. Szlesz seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Szlesz gets to his feet. Blood looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Monika Szlesz had his way with Mike Blood in that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Szlesz connects with a leg kick. Blood looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Blood feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Szleszs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Szlesz fails with the takedown. Szlesz wants to clinch up but Blood keeps it at a distance. Szlesz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Blood did well to prevent Szlesz getting side control. Monika Szlesz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Blood is in trouble now - Szlesz has advanced to mount! Szlesz controlling the pace for now. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Szlesz content just to control the position here. Szlesz is standing up, even though he is in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Szlesz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Blood has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Szlesz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Blood napping and manages to drive through into side control! Szlesz is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Blood will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Szlesz has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Szlesz feints and as Blood raises his hands in defense, Szlesz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blood has an active guard here but Szlesz has managed to pass into half guard.
