Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Laguna Highwind (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Sweet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Highwind comes to the cage accompanied by The Mars Volta - Inertic Esp. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Laguna Highwind!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Simon Sweet!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sweet shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Highwind counter with a right hand.
Sweet tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Highwind counters with a straight right hand.
Sweet throws a left and a right that both miss
and Highwind counters with a stiff right hand.
Highwind feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Highwind keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sweet's head.
Sweet is trying to control the position but Highwind postures up.
Highwind throws a big right hand that misses.
Highwind missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Highwind with a flurry of punches that miss.
Highwind looking to sit in guard and control but Sweet gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sweet throwing strikes from guard but Highwind blocks nicely.
Highwind has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sweet in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Highwind uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Sweet misses with a combination
and Highwind counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sweet won't be happy with that.
Highwind connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sweet some visible discomfort.
Highwind postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Highwind is putting a hurting on Sweet here, landing some big shots from side control.
Highwind trying to control the position but Sweet is working away.

Highwind content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Highwind tries to move into full mount but can't pass Sweet's legs.

Highwind lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Highwind throws a strike aimed at the side of Sweet's head but Sweet avoids it well.
Sweet is looking for a sweep.
Sweet looks gassed!

Sweet takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Highwind lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sweet down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sweet takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Sweet is still in real trouble! Can Highwind finish him?
Highwind looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Sweet covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
