Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alonzo Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Cutler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin comes into the arena with New York blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Griffin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
It looks like Jay Cutler has been cut.
Griffin connects with the punch.

Cutler rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

Jay Cutler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cutler throws a lazy right hand but Griffin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Oh Griffin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Griffin with a lazy takedown attempt
and Cutler counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Griffin off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Cutler follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Griffin was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jay Cutler!
