Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Samuels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Kayne! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sam Samuels! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samuels takes a swing at Kayne's ribcage but misses. Kayne keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Samuels. Samuels throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kayne keeping moving, preventing Samuels from controlling successfully. Samuels trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Samuels throwing strikes but missing. Samuels trying to control but Kayne is working from the bottom. Samuels pushing down on Kayne's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Samuels tries to pass to full mount but Kayne defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Samuels trying to control from half guard but Kayne is working away. Samuels missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Samuels wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kayne keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Samuels prevents Kayne from standing back up.
Samuels wants to control but Kayne is keeping him busy. Kayne makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kayne. Kayne preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Samuels in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Samuels throwing strikes but missing. Samuels wants to control from the top but Kayne keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Samuels stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kayne swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kayne is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Samuels in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kayne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Samuels on the ground. Samuels trying to control but Kayne is working from the bottom. Samuels drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Samuels seems to have locked his on tight now - Kayne screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Samuels, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Sam Samuels! Sam Samuels retains his light heavyweight title!
