Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Cades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Munster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cades comes to the cage accompanied by The Ace Of Spades - Motorhead. Jeff Munster acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Cades!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeff Munster!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cades bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


It looks like Jeff Munster has been cut.

Munster shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Munster wants to pass the guard but Cades is keeping the position.
Munster wants to control from the top but Cades keeps moving.
Munster throws a strike but Cades rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cades is looking to work some ground and pound but Munster has wrist control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cades is looking to stand up but Munster won't let him.
Munster wants to sweep but no luck.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Munster is on top in guard.
Cades knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Munster on the ground.
Munster trying to control the position from guard on top but Cades is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Munster thows a big elbow that misses.

Munster thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Cades keeping moving, preventing Munster from controlling successfully.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Munster controls from within his opponent's guard.
Cades avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Munster is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Munster is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Munster trying to control the position from guard on top but Cades is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Munster is stalling in the full guard.
Munster wants to control from the top but Cades keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jeff Munster wasn't active enough on the ground.
Cades lands a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Munster feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Munster controls from within his opponent's guard.
Cades is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cades will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cades is breathing heavily.
Munster cracks Cades with a solid left hand.
Munster postures up in Cades's guard and throws a big left but Cades blocks it.
Munster seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!


Munster defending well as Cades loads up on a big left hand.

Munster shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Cades is in a horrible position here. Munster smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


It looks like Mike Cades has been cut.
Munster looking to control but Cades is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Munster raining down shots from the mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Munster controlling the position easily from mount.
Munster lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Cades hang on?
Munster avoids the attempt from Cades to control.
Munster tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee warns Cades that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Munster sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Munster fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Munster can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cades is looking to escape.

Munster looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Cades is squirming around, avoiding Munster's attempts to control the action.

Munster sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Munster working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Munster in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Munster is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cades can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Munster showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Munster gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Munster is looking to take a break and control but Cades is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Munster controls the position.
Munster wants to control but Cades is keeping him busy.
Munster staying calm.
Munster has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Munster wants to control for a moment but Cades uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Munster works his foot free and advances to mount.

Munster is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Cades is surviving well by controlling Munster's body position as best he can.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Munster controlling his opponent.
Jeff Munster has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mike Cades has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Munster wants to control the pace but Cades is squirming around nicely.

Jeez, Mike Cades's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mike Cades's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
