Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carter Pewterschmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Tobin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pewterschmidt comes to the cage accompanied by 7 Words. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carter Pewterschmidt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Tobin!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tobin throws a series of punches but Pewterschmidt avoids them all with ease.
Tobin closes the distance but Pewterschmidt moves to the side
and Pewterschmidt counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Pewterschmidt dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
James Tobin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tobin clobbers Pewterschmidt with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Tobin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pewterschmidt counters with a left to the body.
Tobin tries to clinch but Pewterschmidt moves away
and Pewterschmidt counters with a right hand to the body.
Pewterschmidt throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tobin counters with a straight right hand.
Pewterschmidt shoots for a double leg takedown but Tobin sprawls well. He's pushed Pewterschmidt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tobin tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Pewterschmidt counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Tobin is looking to escape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pewterschmidt has control of Tobin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tobin regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Pewterschmidt swats away the attempt to clinch by Tobin.

Tobin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pewterschmidt on the side of the head.
Tobin just misses with a punch to the body.
Tobin thows a body shot but no joy.
Tobin tries to close the distance and clinch but Pewterschmidt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pewterschmidt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tobin is fending him off so far but Pewterschmidt persists. Nope, Tobin circles away and we're back to standing.

Tobin has left one of his arms exposed and Pewterschmidt doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Tobin screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
