Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Quaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taz Devil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quaid's entrance music is Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls. A fine choice. Taz Devil has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Douglas Quaid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Taz Devil! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Devil looks to land a body kick but Quaid moved away. Devil rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Quaid counters with a lovely straight right hand! Quaid stalks Devil and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Devil's face. Devil staggers backwards, shaken. Devil misses with a right hand and Quaid counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Quaid sitting in guard, not really doing much. Devil trying to keep a closed guard but Quaid is proving a slippery customer.
Quaid slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Devil wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Devil is looking to get back to his feet here but Quaid is keeping cool and he's managed to take Devil's back. Devil is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Quaid off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Quaid throws strikes from the back but Devil rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Devil. Devil preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Quaid trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Devil manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Quaid wants to improve his position but instead Devil has moved into half guard.
Quaid looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Quaid pushes Devil off looking to stand but Devil dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quaid regains full guard. Nicely done. Quaid throws his legs up looking for a submission but Devil uses it to pass to side control.
Devil stands up and we're back to a striking position. Taz Devil is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Quaid feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Devils jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Quaid takes a jab right on the kisser.

and Quaid counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Devil! Quaid controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quaid throwing strikes here but Devil is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Quaid can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Devil is looking to escape. Quaid jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Devil is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Devil and Quaid has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Quaid's jab looks to have found its range, popping Devil under the eye. Devil showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Quaid.
Quaid lands a nice hook to Devil's body. Devil takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Devil misses with an uppercut. Quaid saw that one coming. Devil looks to clinch and Quaid counters with a one-two to the body. Devil throws a wild body kick that Quaid sees coming a mile off. Quaid throws a hook but Devil avoids it easily. Quaid shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Quaid showed some decent athleticism there. Quaid tries to pass the half guard into mount. Devil knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quaid is figuring out what he wants to do next. Devil is not content to let Quaid control the position. Devil won't allow Quaid to pass to mount. Quaid throwing shots but Devil is blocking nicely. Devil is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Devil ducks under a wild hook from Quaid. Quaid avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Devil tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Quaid manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Quaid blocks a head kick by Devil.
Quaid connects with a looping right hand.
Quaid fails to land the takedown. Devil misses the shot to the body. Devil lands a slapping body shot.
Quaid scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Devil doesn't seem bothered though. The fight stays on the outside here - Devil looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Devil misses with an uppercut.

Quaid is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Devil's half guard. Devil is trying to stand back up but Quaid is controlling him

That's four minutes gone in the round. Quaid throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Quaid thows a huge punch but Devil dodges it nicely.
Quaid trying to control from Devil's half guard. Devil has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Devil is looking to stand up but Quaid isn't so interested in that idea. Devil keeping moving, preventing Quaid from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Douglas Quaid dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

enabling Quaid to counter with a crisp jab. Quaid moves out of range of the body kick. Devil moves into the clinch successfully.

A frustrated look appears on Devil's face as he tries to break the clinch. Devil tries to break free but Quaid pushes him back against the cage. Quaid goes for a takedown attempt but Devil pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Devil throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Quaid throws out a loose jab but Devil uses good head movement to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Devil bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Devil jabbing away but nothing is landing. Quaid sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Devil lands a front kick. Quaid shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Devil wants to stand and escape but Quaid is having none of it. Quaid looking to pass the guard. Devil looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Quaid missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Quaid stops Devil from standing up.

and Quaid counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Quaid avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No joy there for Quaid, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Devil misses with a leg kick. Taz Devil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Devil wants to clinch and Quaid counters with a left to the body. Quaid drops his hands momentarily and Devil takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Devil throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Danga de danga de dang - Quaid scores with a four punch combination! Devil takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Devil throws a sloppy body shot
and Quaid counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Devil thinking. Devil tries to clinch but Quaid moves away and Quaid counters with a lovely straight right hand!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Devil throws a good cross that connects.
Douglas Quaid is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Quaid takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Devil misses with a left hand and Quaid makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Quaid fails with the takedown. Douglas Quaid is winning the standup battle so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Quaid lands a body shot.
Taz Devil has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Devil throws a poor cross that misses
so Quaid counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that's the end of the fight! Douglas Quaid showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Quaid, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
