The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ang keeps the fight on the outside. Ang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pomchaiw is staying active underneath Ang, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ang is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pomchaiw is trying to escape back to his feet but Ang uses the scramble to pass into side control.
A lull in the action here as Ang stalls from top position. Ang is chipping away with strikes.
Pomchaiw is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ang in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Pomchaiw is still in real trouble! Can Ang finish him? Ang is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pomchaiw has escaped the position, nice work there. Ang working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
It looks like Bobby Pomchaiw has been cut. Pomchaiw should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Ang tries to score with some ground and pound. Pomchaiw controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Pomchaiw really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pomchaiw takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Pomchaiw is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ang has just dragged him back down to the mat. Ang in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Pomchaiw is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bogart Ang!
