Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Manny Makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Slayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makunouchi comes to the cage accompanied by sandstorm. Andrew Slayton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Manny Makunouchi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Manny Makunouchi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Slayton! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slayton fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Makunouchi. Slayton with a hook. Makunouchi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Makunouchi has a takedown stuffed. Slayton slips a jab and a cross from Makunouchi.
Slayton takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Slayton scores with a leg kick.
Slayton is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Slayton connects with a right hand. Makunouchi shakes it off. Slayton tests Makunouchi's chin there with a solid looking shot. A punch lands to the side of Makunouchi 's head but he takes it in his stride. Slayton has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Slayton lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Manny Makunouchi has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slayton looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Makunouchi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Slayton's waist but Slayton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Makunouchi off to one side. Makunouchi tries for a takedown but Slayton circles away easily and Slayton counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manny Makunouchi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Makunouchi is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Makunouchi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Slayton - the referee stops the clock and Makunouchi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Slayton. Makunouchi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Slayton's jab looks to have found its range, popping Makunouchi under the eye. Slayton connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Makunouchi momentarily.
Makunouchi is rocked! This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Makunouchi. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Slayton throws an overhand right that drops Makunouchi like a sack of potatoes! Slayton dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrew Slayton!
