Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniele De Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Diamond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniele De Rossi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rick Diamond! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Rossi shoots in for a double leg but Diamond sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Diamond throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De Rossi's waist but De Rossi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diamond off to one side. De Rossi throws a head kick but Diamond moves out of range.
Diamond changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. De Rossi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Diamond tries for a kimura but De Rossi is defending well. Diamond working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Diamond is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, De Rossi has escaped the position, nice work there. Diamond goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, De Rossi rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Diamond's guard! Nice work there by De Rossi! Diamond throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Rossi wanted to stand there but Diamond had control of the position. Diamond throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! De Rossi escapes and throws Diamond's legs to the side, diving into side control! Diamond looks gassed! Diamond looks to move to half guard but instead De Rossi has passed into mount! Damn! De Rossi wants to stand but Diamond is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Diamond gets back to half guard. Diamond is looking for a sweep. De Rossi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Diamond gets back to full guard.
De Rossi trying to control but Diamond is working from the bottom. De Rossi gets to his feet - Diamond follows without any prompting. De Rossi thuds a left hand into Diamond's body. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! De Rossi stuns Diamond with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Horrible takedown by Diamond or perhaps it was just good defense by De Rossi which made him look bad. De Rossi looks to land a combination. Diamond sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. De Rossi throws a head kick that Diamond semi-blocks.

De Rossi moves in looking to clinch but Diamond pushes him off. De Rossi gets caught flat footed, as Diamond shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diamond pushing down on De Rossi's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diamond wants to pass to mount but De Rossi is defending the position. Diamond takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. De Rossi is trying to stand.
Diamond seems to be looking for submissions.
Diamond decides to return to a standing position. Diamond throws a quick head kick that skims the top of De Rossi's head. De Rossi stuffs the takedown attempt from Diamond. Diamond gets slowly back to his feet. Daniele De Rossi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Diamond. De Rossi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Nice takedown defense from De Rossi. No joy for Diamond on that attempt. Diamond fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A left and a right from De Rossi both land. Nice combination. Diamond shoots in and drives through. De Rossi sprawls well. Diamond drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diamond postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Diamond with a flurry of punches that miss. De Rossi keeping full guard, as Diamond tries to pass. De Rossi can't keep his opponent in guard - Diamond advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Diamond is working for a kimura but De Rossi is defending it quite comfortably.
Diamond not landing any meaningful shots this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. De Rossi pushes Diamond off looking to stand but Diamond dives back in and keeps control.
De Rossi trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Diamond dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
De Rossi fakes the leg kick and cracks Diamond in the body. Diamond drives through with a takedown into guard. De Rossi has control of Diamond's left arm, preventing Diamond from doing any damage. Diamond wants to pass the guard but De Rossi is keeping the position. Diamond trying to control the position from guard on top but De Rossi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. De Rossi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Diamond is controlling him. Diamond trying to control but De Rossi is working from the bottom. Diamond is breathing heavily. Diamond trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Rossi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Diamond is controlling him. De Rossi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diamond on the ground.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. De Rossi cracks a nice hook into Diamond's ribs. De Rossi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Diamond bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. De Rossi prevents Diamond from improving position. Diamond is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. De Rossi looks calm but he's in trouble here. Diamond gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. De Rossi is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Diamond lets go of the hold and De Rossi can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rick Diamond!
