Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mer Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cj Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cj Penn!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Penn there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Penn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jimenez.
Jimenez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Penn counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Penn slips a straight right by Jimenez.
Jimenez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Penn counters with an outside leg kick.
Penn lands with a good body shot.

Penn closes the distance and pushes Jimenez back into the cage.
Penn has Jimenez pressed against the cage, preventing Jimenez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Penn with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Penn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Penn sizes up Jimenez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Penn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Penn fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jimenez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Penn just misses with a punch to the body.
Penn lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jimenez's sensitive parts.
Jimenez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sloppy strikes from Penn. Those never looked like landing.
Jimenez walks into a stiff left hand from Penn.
Left hook, right uppercut from Penn.
Jimenez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Penn connects with a solid leg kick.
Penn throws a body punch but Jimenez moves out of range.
Jimenez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Penn counters with a low kick, right behind Jimenez 's knee.
Mer Jimenez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jimenez is breathing heavily.
Penn cracks the inside of Jimenez's front leg.
Penn scores with a jab to the head.
Penn buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Jimenez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Penn.

Penn gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Penn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Penn has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jimenez is trying to push Penn away but Penn has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A frustrated look appears on Jimenez's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Penn landing knees to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Penn lands with a left to the head.

Penn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Penn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jimenez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jimenez throws a series of punches but Penn avoids them all with ease.
Jimenez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Penn lands a nice looking body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jimenez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Penn.

Penn drops Jimenez with a beautiful combination! Jimenez stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Penn is looking for the KO!

Jimenez is rocked!
Jimenez leaves his chin hanging out and Penn seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Jimenez crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
