Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kennedy comes to the cage accompanied by MegaDeth - Symphony of Destruction. Jack Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kennedy counters with a stiff right hand.
Johnson stalks Kennedy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kennedy's face. Kennedy staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like James Kennedy has been cut.
Johnson swings for the body but Kennedy moves out of range.
Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Johnson stuns Kennedy with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Johnson misses with a double jab
and Kennedy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Jack Johnson has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kennedy slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.

Kennedy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Johnson quickly recovers to half guard.
Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Johnson is looking to improve his position.
Kennedy thows a huge punch but Johnson dodges it nicely.
Kennedy slows the pace down in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson is trying to stand up here but Kennedy is controlling him well.
Kennedy scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Kennedy is controlling the pace.
Kennedy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Johnson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kennedy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kennedy is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kennedy is pressing down on Johnson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Johnson is holding on for now.
Kennedy frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kennedy lands a nice shot to the head.
Kennedy punishing his opponent with strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kennedy scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Kennedy is working for a guillotine from mount but Johnson frees his head quite easily.
Kennedy controlling from the full mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kennedy punishing his opponent with strikes.
Johnson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Johnson tries to buck Kennedy off but he can't manage it.
Kennedy raining down shots from the mount!
Kennedy with shots to the head and body - Johnson looks very uncomfortable down there.
Kennedy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kennedy lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kennedy content just to control the position here.

Kennedy is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Kennedy extends the arm and Johnson is forced to tap!
