Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcos Barbosa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Knino Master! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Master wants to clinch and Barbosa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Master misses with a takedown and Barbosa counters with a straight right hand. Master with a lazy takedown attempt and Master takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Master is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Barbosa shoots in and gets a takedown into Master's guard. Master is trying to keep Barbosa in close.
Barbosa stays in close to Master's body and controls the position. Master not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barbosa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Barbosa lands with a kick to the ribs.
Knino Master seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Master wants to clinch but Barbosa slips to the side so Barbosa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Master trying to control the position.
Master is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Barbosa wants to pass the guard but Master is keeping the position. Barbosa's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Barbosa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Barbosa controls from within his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Marcos Barbosa just wasn't active enough. Barbosa shoots in and gets a takedown into Master's guard. Master looks gassed! Barbosa postures up.
Master is working an open guard so Barbosa takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Master gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Barbosa counters with a one-two to the body. Marcos Barbosa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Knino Master. Barbosa throws a nice looking combination but Master bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barbosa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Barbosa takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Barbosa working Master over with strikes. Barbosa is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barbosa is thwarting Master's attempts to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Marcos Barbosa wasn't doing enough on the ground. Barbosa feints and as Master raises his hands in defense, Barbosa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Barbosa stays in close to Master's body and controls the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcos Barbosa dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Barbosa passes Master's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Master is breathing heavily. Barbosa trying to mount his opponent but Master defends it. Barbosa looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barbosa wants to pass the guard but Master is defending well. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Barbosa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Master looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Master tries to bench press Barbosa off him but Barbosa keeps the position. Master is letting Barbosa control him for a moment. Barbosa has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Master! Barbosa looking for a guillotine from mount but Master is having none of it. Barbosa content just to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barbosa is landing with some decent strikes but Master is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Barbosa connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Barbosa lands a heavy elbow. Master is in all sorts of trouble here.
Barbosa controlling the pace for now. Barbosa with a couple of short strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcos Barbosa dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Barbosa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Barbosa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Master defends it well. Barbosa wants to free his trapped foot but Master is holding on for dear life with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Master pushes Barbosa off, looking to escape but Barbosa dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Master is forced to tap! The fight is over!
