Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Nugget (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Groove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greg Groove is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Groove moves in looking to clinch but Nugget pushes him off.
Groove thuds his right hand into Nugget's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nugget looks to land a combination but Groove avoids it well.

Groove looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Nugget is staying active underneath Groove, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Nugget might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Groove takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nugget tries to kick Groove off but Groove keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Nugget has one foot on Groove's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Ted Nugget seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Groove throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Groove decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nugget's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Groove trying to control the position from guard on top but Nugget is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Groove thows a big elbow that misses.
Groove wants to control from the top but Nugget keeps moving.
Groove works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Nugget tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Groove manages to move to mount!
Groove is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Groove tries to control but Nugget wriggling away.
You get the feeling that Nugget really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Nugget is breathing heavily.

Groove looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Nugget bucks up and throws Groove to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Groove steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nugget.

Groove has closed the distance and engaged Nugget in a clinch.
Groove tries for a takedown but Nugget manages to get underhooks.

Nugget escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Groove counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nugget's guard now.
Groove stops Nugget from standing up.
Groove pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nugget is keeping the position for now.
Nugget wants to stand and escape but Groove is having none of it.

Groove sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nugget's guard.
Groove working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Groove stops Nugget from getting back to his feet.

Groove in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Nugget tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Groove!
