Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Jorge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Auville (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Foo Fighters- My Hero. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Jorge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Auville! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jorge doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Auville to counter with a crisp jab. Jorge misses with a takedown and Auville counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jorge doesn't succeed with the takedown and Auville cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Jorge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jorge fails with the takedown and Auville counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jorge doesn't succeed with the takedown and Auville counters with a stiff right hand. Auville misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jorge lands a nice hook to Auville's body. Auville takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Jorge shoots and misses and Auville counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Auville. Auville controls from within his opponent's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Auville hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Auville closes the distance and clinches. Auville is stalling here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Auville prevents the takedown attempt.
Auville slowing the pace effectively. Auville gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Jorge looking for a sweep. Not yet Jorge, not yet. Auville tries to free his leg and advance position but Jorge is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jorge striking off his back but it's not causing Auville any problems. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jorge trying to keep a closed guard but Auville is proving a slippery customer.
Jorge is breathing heavily. Auville pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jorge is keeping the position for now. Auville is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Auville is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jorge has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Auville can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Auville slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jorge darts in trying to clinch and Auville counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Auville performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

John Auville has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Auville clinches up with Jorge and pushes him back against the cage. Jorge jumps into guard, dragging Auville to the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Auville stays in close to Jorge's body and controls the position. Auville sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jorge's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorge has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Auville finds it's way round the side to connect with Jorge's head. Jorge doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Auville counter with a right hand. Auville clinches up with Jorge and pushes him back against the cage. Auville breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jorge doesn't succeed with the takedown and Auville counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Jorge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Auville moves into full mount! Auville lands a big elbow. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jorge is trying to escape the mount.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Auville was stalling too much, according to the referee. Jorge tries for a takedown but Auville circles away easily and Auville counters with a single leg into guard. Jorge didn't expect that. Auville passes easily into side control. Nice work. Auville taking a breather here. Auville connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jorge some visible discomfort.

Auville looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Auville showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Auville feints and then cracks Jorge's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jorge down. Jorge moves to clinch but Auville breaks away and Auville counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Auville escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jorge shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Auville counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jorge's guard now. Jorge tries to strike from the bottom.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Auville's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Auville misses with the combination.

Jorge didn't see that one coming. Auville forces Jorge back against the cage and clinches. Auville breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Auville closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jorge trying to remain calm as Auville controls from the top position. Let's hope that Auville has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Auville darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Jorge shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Auville counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
And that's the end of the fight! John Auville comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Auville has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
