Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Spider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Spider blocks it with crossed arms.
Silva gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Spider.
Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Spider uses from the top position.
Spider looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Spider is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Anderson Spider.

Silva is trying to trip Spider. He has hold of a leg but Spider is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Silva persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
