Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Spider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Spider! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Silva! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Spider blocks it with crossed arms. Silva gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Spider.
Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Spider uses from the top position. Spider looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Spider is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Spider working a defensive guard here.
Silva landing with the ground and pound. Silva stands up over Spider, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Silva preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva controlling from the top position. Spider working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Silva. Spider bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silva's guard. Spider prevents Silva from getting back to his feet. Spider trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Silva is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Spider is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Anderson Spider. Silva has managed to clinch.
Spider prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Silva is trying to trip Spider. He has hold of a leg but Spider is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Silva persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Silva's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Silva working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Spider's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spider wants to sweep but no luck. Spider is breathing heavily. Silva sitting in guard here, content to control. Silva must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Spider working a defensive guard here.
Silva not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Wanderlei Silva was stalling too much, according to the referee. Silva wants to clinch up but Spider keeps it at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wanderlei Silva dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Spider manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Spider throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range. Some wild striking there from Spider.
Silva takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Spider closes the distance looking to clinch and Silva holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Silva landing knees to the head.
It looks like Anderson Spider has been cut. Spider takes a shot to the head. Silva controlling the action here for a moment.
The crowd are getting on Silva's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. Silva with a knee to the head.
Silva slows down the pace here.
Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Spider shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Silva jumps into guard, dragging Spider to the mat.
Silva manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Spider, pushing him back against the cage. Silva landing knees to the head.

Silva is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Spider gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Anderson Spider has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wanderlei Silva. Silva manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Spider looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Spider wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Spider looking to control.
Silva sitting in guard here, content to control. Spider is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Silva dives into side control.

Spider tries to bench press Silva off him but Silva keeps the position. Silva is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Spider's shoulder. That is not cool. Spider takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Spider taking a bit of punishment here - Silva scoring with strikes. Spider is letting Silva control him for a moment. Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Spider is looking for a sweep. Spider wants to control but Silva postures up. Spider gets back to half guard. Silva wants to pass to mount but Spider is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Silva trying to control the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva is pressing down on Spider's thigh, looking to free his foot. Spider is holding on for now. Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Silva perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Spider tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Silva has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Silva sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wanderlei Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Anderson Spider's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Spider has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva has his feet on Spider's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Spider has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Silva pulls guard effortlessly. Silva uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Silva takes the fight into the clinch. Silva jumps guard and drags Spider to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Silva wants to stand but Spider is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva pushes Spider off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Wanderlei Silva is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The fight moves into the clinch position. Silva pulls guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva wants to stand and escape but Spider is having none of it. Anderson Spider has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Spider has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.
And that's the end of the fight! Wanderlei Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Silva winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
