Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mathias Nygard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Joyner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nygard comes to the cage accompanied by To Holmgard and Beyond. The key to victory for Mathias Nygard has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nygard misses with a combination
and Joyner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Joyner sizes up Nygard with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
It looks like Mathias Nygard has been cut.
Nygard is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Joyner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nygard was well out of range. Poor timing from Joyner.

and Joyner counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Nygard feints and as Joyner raises his hands in defense, Nygard changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Joyner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nygard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joyner on the ground.

Joyner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nygard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

You get the feeling that Nygard really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Joyner postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Nygard in real trouble here! The ref calls for Nygard to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
