Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andy Nilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fabio Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nilson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Da Silva is trying to improve his position.

Nilson is trying to get an arm triangle but Da Silva is defending well.

Nilson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Da Silva is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Nilson tries to advance position but instead Da Silva slips a leg back in to half guard.

Nilson is working for a kimura but Da Silva is defending it quite comfortably.

Nilson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Da Silva defends it well.

Nilson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Da Silva has managed to free his arm - good work.

Da Silva makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Da Silva.

Nilson stands up from Da Silva's guard - Nilson perhaps looking for a knockout.

Da Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nilson is really struggling to control Da Silva but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fabio Da Silva was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Da Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nilson moves away.
Nilson swats away the attempt to clinch by Da Silva.
Da Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Nilson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Da Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nilson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Da Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Nilson's legs - danger averted.

Nilson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Da Silva stacks Nilson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Da Silva!

Da Silva is looking to take a break and control but Nilson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nilson is looking to regain half guard here but Da Silva keeps moving and retains side control.
Nilson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Da Silva off and has taken his back!

Nilson is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

The fighters are battling for position here. Nilson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Fabio Da Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.

Nilson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Da Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Da Silva slips a nice elbow through Nilson's hands, connecting with Nilson's forehead.
Nilson wants to control but Da Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nilson is not content to let Da Silva control the position.
Nilson is looking to control Da Silva's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nilson avoid being mounted?

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Nilson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Nilson seems to have locked his on tight now - Da Silva screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Nilson, as he picks up the win!
