Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Hermiston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Hermiston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Penn! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hermiston will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Penn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Penn lands in his opponent's guard. Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hermiston swivels though and keeps the full guard. Penn works over Hermiston with some ground and pound from guard. Hermiston wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Penn looking to pass the guard. Hermiston manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Penn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Penn sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Penn looks gassed! Hermiston tries to close the distance and clinch up but Penn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hermiston moves in looking to clinch but Penn pushes him off. Penn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hermiston's waist but Hermiston gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penn off to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn keeps the fight on the outside. Hermiston fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hermiston tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Penn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hermiston wants to clinch. Penn fails with the takedown and Hermiston counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Penn! Andrew Hermiston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penn. Hermiston tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Penn is looking to improve his position but Hermiston isn't that keen on the idea. Penn is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Hermiston takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Penn is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hermiston controlling his opponent. Penn is wriggling around trying to escape.
Penn should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Hermiston controlling the position easily from mount. Penn is trying desperately to improve position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hermiston takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Penn working to try and regain half guard.
Hermiston controlling from the full mount. Hermiston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Penn on the ground. Penn bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Penn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hermiston is trying to keep Penn in close.
Penn advances position into side control! Penn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hermiston knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hermiston tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hermiston keeping his opponent close. Hermiston wants to control but Penn postures up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hermiston is trying to get back to half guard. Penn tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hermiston is trying to escape and get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Andrew Hermiston will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hermiston tries to clinch up but Penn circles away and keeps his distance. Hermiston tries for a takedown but Penn circles away easily and Penn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Penn avoiding damage as Hermiston throws knees to the body.

Penn tries for a takedown but Hermiston circles away easily and Hermiston counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Penn's guard now. Penn looking for a guillotine here but Hermiston defends easily.
Penn has a closed guard, preventing Hermiston from standing up. Hermiston will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hermiston wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving. Penn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn looking for a sweep. Not yet Penn, not yet. Hermiston avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Penn tries to land a sweep but no joy. Penn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hermiston doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hermiston manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hermiston content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Penn trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Penn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Penn manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hermiston's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penn is working for a guillotine from mount but Hermiston frees his head quite easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Hermiston holds on for dear life, controlling Penn's posture momentarily. Hermiston wants to hold on but Penn pushes him away. Hermiston is looking to get to half guard. BJ Penn has got the better of the ground game so far. Hermiston bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Hermiston showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Penn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hermiston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hermiston is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hermiston preventing the sweep. Penn looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Hermiston is defending well. Penn quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Hermiston has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Penn celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
