Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rex Bannion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lee's choice of entrance music: Dream . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rex Bannion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenji Lee! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bannion scores with a nice body kick.
Lee circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bannion tries to clinch but Lee is having none of it. Lee misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lee shoots in for a double leg but Bannion sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lee looks gassed! Bannion tries to clinch but Lee moves out of range. Bannion tries to clinch up but Lee circles away and keeps his distance. Lee avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Bannion wants to clinch. Bannion moves into range and clinches up with Lee. Bannion unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lee lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Bannion is looking to stand up but Lee won't let him. Bannion avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lee is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee tries to land a sweep but no joy. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lee is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bannion utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Bannion is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bannion swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bannion can't keep his opponent in guard - Lee advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee trying to pass the guard but Bannion defending well.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bannion tries to clinch up. Lee shoots for a takedown but Bannion saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Rex Bannion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenji Lee. Lee fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bannion tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lee paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bannion doesn't manage to clinch there - Lee circles away.

Lee looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Bannion! Lee goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Bannion turns into him and now he's in Lee's guard.
Lee had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bannion is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lee Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bannion's back instead. Bannion controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Lee is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Bannion knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bannion is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lee gets his way!
Bannion trying to get back to his feet but Lee is in full control for now. Lee has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Bannion! Can he survive? No! He's out! Lee gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
