Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Monk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Yardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monk's entrance music is My Ding-a-ling. A fine choice. Marcus Monk has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Yardy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Yardy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Monk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Monk tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yardy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Yardy manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.
Monk swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Dan Yardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yardy stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Monk.

and Monk counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yardy thinking.

and Monk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Yardy closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Yardy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Monk avoids it really well and circles away.
Marcus Monk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Yardy.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yardy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
