Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nero Boston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norman Ewert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Boston might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Loituma - . I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nero Boston! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Norman Ewert! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boston walks into a stiff left hand from Ewert. Boston shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Boston is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ewert has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Boston prevents Ewert from getting the reversal. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boston trying to control but Ewert is having none of it. Ewert tries to hold on but Boston postures up. Ewert holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Boston tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Boston looking to land elbow strikes but Ewert uses the position to regain half guard. Boston trying to control from half guard but Ewert is working away. Ewert keeping control of the position. Boston thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Some wild striking there from Ewert.
Ewert drops Boston with a left and a right! Oh, Boston is hurt - Ewert dives into side control looking to finish!

It looks like Nero Boston has been cut. Boston is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Ewert controlling from side mount. Ewert has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Horrible takedown by Boston or perhaps it was just good defense by Ewert which made him look bad. A combination from Ewert does no damage. Boston avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boston closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ewert circles away. Boston is breathing heavily. Boston shoots for a double leg takedown but Ewert sprawls well. He's pushed Boston's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nero Boston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ewert is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Ewert throws out a powerful jab. Ewert bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Boston's head backwards. Oh Boston is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ewert tests Boston's chin there with a solid looking shot. Norman Ewert is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Boston takes one to the chin there. A shot to de liver by Ewert. Beautiful body shot. Boston seems to have got his legs back now. Jab by Ewert. Ewert scores with a jab to the jaw. Boston walks into a straight right hand from Ewert. Boston throws a nice looking combination but Ewert bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ewert throws a series of punches but Boston moves out of range. Ewert keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Boston takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Ewert with a jab. Ewert misses with a double jab.
Boston avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Boston slips under a jab. Ewert lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A jab from Ewert misses. Boston shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ewert as he jumps to the side. Decent striking displayed by Ewert there.

Ewert lands a really nice looking cross but Boston seems unphased.
Ewert looks to land a right hand but Boston moved out of range. Ewert cracks Boston with a good jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A punch lands to the side of Boston 's head but he takes it in his stride. Ewert throws a left and a right that both miss
and Boston counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ewert's guard now. Ewert preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Boston trying to control the position from guard on top but Ewert is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boston is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ewert is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ewert has escaped and now he's on top! Ewert stays in close to Boston's body and controls the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ewert looking to pass the guard. Ewert controls from within his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boston swings and misses with a shot to the body and Ewert counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Ewert lands a jab to Boston's midsection. Boston misses with a takedown attempt letting Ewert counter with a right hand. Ewert lands a left and a right that sends Boston crashing to the canvas! Ewert dives into mount looking to finish! Boston is working to get back to half guard.
Ewert sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Boston is looking to improve his position but Ewert isn't that keen on the idea. Ewert tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Boston is trying to escape the mount.

Ewert controlling his opponent. Boston has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Let's hope that Ewert has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Boston working to try and regain half guard.

Boston is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ewert trying to control the pace. Ewert's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Despite being in the dominant position, Norman Ewert just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ewert's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Ewert duly obliges. Ewert lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Ewert works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Boston doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ewert cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Boston changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ewert looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Boston tries for a kimura. Ewert tries to bum rush Boston with a series of wild strikes but Boston uses good footwork to avoid the assault. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ewert throws a jab but it's blocked by Boston. Ewert might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Boston fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boston dodges the punch combination from Ewert.
