Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Cena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dani Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Cena! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dani Cruz! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Cruz pulls guard. Cruz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cena chips away with some ground and pound. Cena is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cruz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cena slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Cruz is pulling down on Cena's head. It's preventing any offense from Cena, at least for the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cruz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz with a poor takedown and Cena cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Cruz goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Cruz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Cena counters with a nice uppercut. Cruz fails with the takedown and Cena counters with a stiff right hand. John Cena has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dani Cruz. Horrible takedown by Cena or perhaps it was just good defense by Cruz which made him look bad. Cena fails with the takedown and Cruz counters by moving into the clinch. Cena tries to break free but Cruz pushes him back against the cage. Cena keeps control of Cruz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Cena stalling against the cage.
Cena lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Cruz backwards.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz is trying to force a seperation but Cena has the dominant position. Cruz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Cruz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cena pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cruz looks gassed! A combination from Cruz does no damage. Cena lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cruz circles away quickly and effectively. Cruz has his takedown stuffed and Cena counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Cena wants to free his trapped foot but Cruz is holding on for dear life with his legs. Cena sitting and controlling from the half guard. This has been an exciting period of action!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cena escapes and gets back to his feet. Cruz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cena moves into the clinch. Cruz fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Cena escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cruz looks for the body kick but Cena saw that one coming. Cena moves into the clinch. Cena has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cruz regains guard immediately. Cena is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cena stops Cruz from standing up. Cena controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cena wants to pass the guard but Cruz is keeping the position. Cruz trying to keep a closed guard but Cena is proving a slippery customer.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A solid leg kick lands there for Cena.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cruz fails with the takedown and Cena counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cena closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Cruz is staying active underneath Cena, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cena is really struggling to control Cruz but he's trying to hold on to the position. Cruz manages to get to full guard.
Cena wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving. Cena tries to stand but Cruz is controlling from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cruz looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Cena. Cena tries to clinch but fails miserably and Cruz counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Cruz tries to circle away but Cena has him pinned against the cage. Cena fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Cruz wants to break free but Cena has control.
Cena gets control of Cruz's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cena will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Cruz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Cena working a defensive guard here.
Cena tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cena might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cruz throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cena looking to sweep here. No luck so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cruz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cena wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Cruz trying to control but Cena is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cena gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Cruz. Cruz shoots and misses and Cena decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cruz's guard. Cena trying to control the position from guard on top but Cruz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cenais looking to pass into half guard but Cruz pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Cruz is in guard. Cena tries to land a sweep but no joy. John Cena overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cena looking to control but Cruz passes into half guard.

That will keep Cena thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Cruz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cena to the mat! Cena manages to get full guard. Cena drives through and clinches with Cruz against the cage.
Cena is looking to break free of the clinch but Cruz has double underhooks. Cruz is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cena is defending well for now. Cena tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cruz just stands there and leans against the cage. Cena looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Cruz breaks the clinch.
Cruz tries to clinch but Cena moves out of range. Cena throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cruz was covering up waiting for the punch and Cena finishes the takedown easily into guard. Cruz keeping moving, preventing Cena from controlling successfully. Cruz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cena got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cruz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cena has managed to get both his arms back between Cruz's legs - danger averted. Cena trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Cena trying to control but Cruz is working from the bottom. Cruz trying to control the position here. Cena thows a big elbow that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cena slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We're going to have a standup here because John Cena wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Cena tries a head kick but it misses.
Cena shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cena was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Cruz flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Cruz can't escape the position.
Cena controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cena prevents Cruz from getting the reversal. Cruz has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
I really don't envy Cruz right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Cena is not going to allow Cruz to sit and survive in this position. Cruz is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

And that's the end of the fight! John Cena showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cena has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
