Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lay Pray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pray comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Fear the Reaper- Blue Oyster Cult. Jay West has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lay Pray's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lay Pray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay West!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pray shoots in looking for a takedown. West tries to sprawl out of it but Pray keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. West manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pray closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. West quickly recovers to half guard.
Still in half guard, Pray seems content to control.
West is looking to escape.
Pray is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Pray not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pray in particular looking to stall.

We're going to have a standup here because Lay Pray wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
West closes the distance and clinches up with Pray, looking for a takedown. West pushes Pray against the cage but Pray circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pray tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but West swivels and escapes.
West shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
West throws a leg kick but Pray sees it coming and moves out of range.
Pray dives in and grabs West's left leg, looking for a takedown. West pushes down on Pray's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lay Pray. That's going to take a lot out of him.
West tries to bum rush Pray with a series of wild strikes but Pray uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Pray gets the takedown into side control.
Pray in side control, just content to control the action for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if West can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's one minute gone in the round.
West is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Pray is controlling him well.

West sneaks out the side door and pushes Pray away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
West swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
West throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
West looks gassed!
Pray shoots for a double leg takedown but West sprawls well. He's pushed Pray's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pray lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as West backs up against the cage.


It looks like Jay West has been cut.
West stuffs the takedown attempt from Pray. Pray gets slowly back to his feet.
Pray shoots for a double leg takedown but West sprawls well. He's pushed Pray's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
West throws out a leg kick but Pray moves out of range and West only half commits.
Pray tries for a takedown but West sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
West shoots in for a takedown but Pray shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Pray swinging wildly here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pray fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
West throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pray misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
West scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pray tries to sprawl but West drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Pray wants to get back to full guard but West has passed into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pray wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Pray is trying to escape the mount.
Pray tries to hold on but West pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pray is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Pray is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pray really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
West tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Pray looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
West prevents Pray from getting the reversal.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pray wants to control but West is having none of it.
West wants to control the pace but Pray is squirming around nicely.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, West cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Pray manages to regain half guard. Good work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are battling for position here. Pray manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Pray wants to stand and escape but West is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lay Pray dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jay West's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Pray shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts West as he jumps to the side.

Pray closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pray moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Pray trying to control the position but West is working away.
Pray is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because West is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
West trying to remain calm as Pray controls from the top position.
Pray is looking to take a break and control but West is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
A lull in the action here as Pray stalls from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lay Pray just wasn't active enough.
Pray with a poor takedown
enabling West to counter with a crisp jab.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
West gets in close and tags Pray with a short punch that almost sends Pray to the mat! Oh Pray is in big trouble! He turns his back on West, trying to create some distance but West rushes him, striking wildly and Pray goes down! The referee tackles West into the cage to end the fight! West is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay West!
