Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Leonid Cheburtsow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Martin Jaros!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheburtsow with a lazy takedown attempt
and Jaros counters with a stiff right hand.

Cheburtsow gets caught flat footed, as Jaros shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Cheburtsow throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Cheburtsow looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jaros looking to pass the guard.
Jaros stays in close to Cheburtsow's body and controls the position.

Cheburtsow is looking for a triangle but Jaros pushes his legs off easily.
Cheburtsow wants to stand and escape but Jaros is having none of it.

Jaros stands up from Cheburtsow's guard - Jaros perhaps looking for a knockout.
Jaros lands a front kick.
Leonid Cheburtsow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jaros cracks Cheburtsow with an open hand slap.

Jaros throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cheburtsow tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jaros is in Cheburtsow's guard.
Cheburtsow is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Cheburtsow has his foot on Jaros's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jaros works his way back into a safe position though.
Jaros is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cheburtsow is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jaros is aware though and is defending well.

I looks like Jaros might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Cheburtsow controls Jaros momentarily but Jaros frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Martin Jaros.
A left and a right from Jaros both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Leonid Cheburtsow has been cut.

Cheburtsow is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cheburtsow wants to control but Jaros is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Cheburtsow wants to improve his position but Jaros is controlling well.
Jaros lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Jaros is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cheburtsow scores with a few weak punches.
Jaros is thwarting Cheburtsow's attempts to control the position.
Jaros really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cheburtsow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cheburtsow gets full guard.

Jaros avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cheburtsow is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jaros shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cheburtsow is trying to defend but Jaros finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

and Jaros counters with a nice low kick that buckles Cheburtsow's knee momentarily.

and Jaros decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cheburtsow's guard.

Cheburtsow has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jaros should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cheburtsow has tightened it up now! Jaros should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
