The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bongo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from The Mathematician.
Bongo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bongo passes into half guard.
The Mathematician looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Bongo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but The Mathematician sees it coming and defends easily.
The Mathematician is pressing down on Bongo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bongo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The Mathematician had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bongo defends it easily.
The Mathematician wants to sweep but no luck.

Bongo trying to control the position from guard on top but The Mathematician is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bongo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bongo passes into half guard.
The Mathematician gets back to full guard.
Bongo has gone for a leg lock! The Mathematician slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bongo's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The Mathematician with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bongo looking to hit a scissor sweep but The Mathematician is one step ahead there.

Bongo has his foot on The Mathematician's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. The Mathematician works his way back into a safe position though.
Bongo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The Mathematician gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The Mathematician wants to control from the top but Bongo keeps moving.
Bongo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The Mathematician is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
It looks like Coco Bongo has been cut.
Bongo controls The Mathematician momentarily but The Mathematician frees himself.
The Mathematician has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Coco Bongo's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Coco Bongo's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
