These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McClurg scores with a head kick.
It looks like Fabricio Werdum has been cut.
Werdum shoots in for a takedown but McClurg shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Werdum on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
McClurg bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Werdum is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Werdum gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and McClurg makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
McClurg throws a leg kick which misses Werdum's front leg but catches the back leg as Werdum tries to avoid it.
A kick lands to the mid section there for McClurg.
McClurg lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
McClurg scores with a kick to the body.
Werdum takes a kick to the side of the head.
McClurg is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McClurg lands a big head kick that sends Werdum tumbling to the mat! McClurg takes a step backwards and waves Werdum back to his feet - he wants the finish!
McClurg lets loose with a powerful body kick. Werdum will feel that in the morning.
A head kick by McClurg - that's a beauty! Werdum is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even McClurg can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
