Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baumgartner tries to clinch but Havington is having none of it.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Havington and Baumgartner goes tumbling to the canvas! Havington follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


It looks like Bruce Baumgartner has been cut.
Havington not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Havington tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Baumgartner.
Havington trying to control the action but Baumgartner is working from the bottom.
Baumgartner tries to get to full guard but Havington has control of the leg.

Ian Havington has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Baumgartner shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Havington manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Baumgartner tries to free his leg and advance position but Havington is retaining full guard.

Baumgartner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Baumgartner ducks under a wild hook from Havington.

Havington gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Havington on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Havington tries to get out of the position.

Baumgartner trying to control the position from guard on top but Havington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Havington will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Baumgartner looking to pass the guard.
Havington pulls Baumgartner in close to his closed guard and prevents Baumgartner from doing any damage or advancing position.
Baumgartner looking to sit in guard and control but Havington gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Baumgartner keeping moving, preventing Havington from controlling successfully.
Havington tries to stand but Baumgartner is controlling from the bottom.
Baumgartner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Baumgartner trying to keep a closed guard but Havington is proving a slippery customer.
Havington has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Baumgartner will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Baumgartner throws a leg kick that misses.
Havington fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Baumgartner manages to avoid it.
Havington scores with a hook to the body. Baumgartner takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Baumgartner looks gassed!
Havington throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Baumgartner stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Havington shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Baumgartner but Baumgartner pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice takedown defense from Baumgartner. No joy for Havington on that attempt.
Baumgartner will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Havington scores with a jab. Baumgartner acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Havington jabs Baumgartner to the body, keeping him at a distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Havington pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Havington cracks Baumgartner with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Baumgartner gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Havington gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ian Havington!
