Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Ronny Samuelsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Fitzwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard Fitzwell told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rex Ronny Samuelsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Fitzwell!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzwell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Samuelsen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
It looks like Rex Ronny Samuelsen has been cut.
Fitzwell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Samuelsen is controlling Fitzwell's posture.
Samuelsen trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Samuelsen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Samuelsen is pulling down on Fitzwell's head to control his posture.
Samuelsen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fitzwell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fitzwell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Samuelsen throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Samuelsen is trying to control the position but Fitzwell postures up.

Fitzwell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Samuelsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fitzwell stands up over Samuelsen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fitzwell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Samuelsen could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Samuelsen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Samuelsen is trying to control the action in half guard but Fitzwell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Fitzwell is looking to improve his position.
Fitzwell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Samuelsen is working away from the top position though.
Samuelsen prevents Fitzwell from standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Samuelsen wants to pass the guard but Fitzwell is defending well.
Fitzwell tries to roll over but Samuelsen keeps him under control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Samuelsen connects with a nice short shot to Fitzwell's temple.

Fitzwell is looking for a sweep. Samuelsen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Fitzwell showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Samuelsen.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Fitzwell lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Fitzwell.
Samuelsen looks to land a left hand but Fitzwell moved out of range nicely.
Samuelsen shoots and misses
and Fitzwell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Samuelsen!
Samuelsen is rocked!
Samuelsen is breathing heavily.
Fitzwell lands a big shot there that rocks Samuelsen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oh Samuelsen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

A big strike lands for Fitzwell! That's really hurt Samuelsen and he's turned his back - Fitzwell keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Fitzwell Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richard Fitzwell!
