Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Suren Kalik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasif Ojagverdiev!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ojagverdiev throws a leg kick
and Ojagverdiev takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Kalik bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kalik is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ojagverdiev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ojagverdiev is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Kalik has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Kalik wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ojagverdiev, who protects the arm well.

Kalik is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ojagverdiev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ojagverdiev is looking for a sweep.

Kalik swings around for an armbar but Ojagverdiev sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kalik's guard.

Kalik working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ojagverdiev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ojagverdiev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ojagverdiev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kalik has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ojagverdiev has managed to get both his arms back between Kalik's legs - danger averted.

Kalik pushes a forearm under Ojagverdiev's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ojagverdiev is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
