Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heath Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Taktarov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heath Hill has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heath Hill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oleg Taktarov! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taktarov blocks the body kick.
Hill rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Taktarov moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Taktarov has Hill up against the cage in a clinch.
Hill gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Taktarov.

Heath Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Taktarov. Taktarov jumps guard and drags Hill to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Taktarov looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Taktarov on the ground. Taktarov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hill. Taktarov controls Hill momentarily but Hill frees himself. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The crowd cheers as Hill lands an impressive looking overhand right. Taktarov doesn't seem phased though. Taktarov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hill scores with a crisp jab that stopped Taktarov in his tracks. Taktarov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hill tries to avoid it but Taktarov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hill to the ground. Hill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Taktarov will be more careful next time no doubt.
Taktarov is rocked! Hill gets a takedown into half guard. Taktarov is still in real trouble! Can Hill finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hill throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Taktarov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hill wants to stand but Taktarov is controlling his posture from full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hill accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hill wants to get up but he can't break Taktarov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Taktarov seems to have recovered his senses. Taktarov has his foot on Hill's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hill works his way back into a safe position though. Hill wants to stand but Taktarov is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hill stops Taktarov from standing up. Hill has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hill wanted to stand there but Taktarov had control of the position. Hill wants to stand and escape but instead Taktarov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Taktarov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hill is keeping the position for now. Taktarov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hill works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Taktarov trying to control the position from guard on top but Hill is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Taktarov is looking to stand up but Hill won't let him.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hill shoots and misses and Taktarov counters with a head kick. Hill tries a head kick but it misses.
Taktarov gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hill lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Taktarov backwards. Taktarov changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hill fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hill throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hill shoots for a takedown but Taktarov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hill thows a left - swing and a miss! Taktarov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Taktarov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Taktarov loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Hill scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Taktarov land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Taktarov stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oleg Taktarov!
