Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jukka Jumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bb Esko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jumi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is War Machine. Jukka Jumi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jukka Jumi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bb Esko!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jumi.
Esko takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jumi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jumi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jumi wants to clinch but Esko slips to the side
and Esko counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jumi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Esko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Esko uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jumi.
Jumi thows a body shot but no joy.
Jumi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A jab from Jumi does it's job there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jumi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Esko as he jumps to the side.

Jumi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Esko sprawls well initially but Jumi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jumi not landing any meaningful shots this time.
It looks like Jumi is going to stand back up.
Jumi slows the pace down in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Esko is trying to stand up here but Jumi is controlling him well.

Jumi is controlling the pace.
Esko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jumi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Esko keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Esko can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jumi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Esko keeps working.
Esko tries to kick Jumi off but Jumi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Jumi not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Jumi controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jukka Jumi just wasn't active enough.
Jumi throws the left hand but Esko avoids the punch easily.

Jumi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jumi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jumi postures up in Esko's guard and throws a big left but Esko blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jumi stays in close to Esko's body and controls the position.
Jumi wants to control from the top but Esko keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jumi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jukka Jumi.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jumi tries to clinch but Esko moves away
and Esko counters with a straight right hand.
Jukka Jumi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jumi misses with a looping left.
Jumi's corner calls for a 1-2. Jumi obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jumi fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Esko to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Esko looks to clinch but Jumi throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Esko taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Jukka Jumi!
