Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fred Liddel!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy scores with a jab to the head.
Brian Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Murphy connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Murphy loads up on a big right hand but Liddel slips the punch.

Liddel moves into the clinch successfully.
Murphy has had enough of the clinch but Liddel keeps him there for the moment.

Murphy is trying to break the clinch but Liddel is controlling him.
Liddel is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Murphy is keeping busy.
Murphy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Liddel has him pressed against the cage.

Liddel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Murphy is looking to slow Liddel down with leg kicks.
Liddel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Murphy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Liddel rushes Murphy and presses him up against the cage.

Murphy breaks from the clinch.
Murphy misses with a hook
and Liddel counters with a two punch combo.
Murphy missing with a left hand there. Liddel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Murphy connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Murphy thuds a left hand into Liddel's body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Liddel takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

and Liddel counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Murphy motions for Liddel to come forward. Murphy throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Murphy will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Murphy.
Liddel moves out of range of the strikes.

and Murphy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Murphy throws an off balance right hand

and Liddel counters with a takedown into side control.

Liddel has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and Murphy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Murphy cracks Liddel with a good jab.
Murphy circles away from the clinch attempt
and Murphy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Murphy misses with an uppercut.
Liddel blocks a leg kick.
An inside leg kick from Murphy misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Liddel has taken the fight to the clinch.

Murphy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Murphy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Murphy bucks up and tries to throw Liddel off but instead Liddel has got his back!
Will Liddel go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Liddel is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Murphy defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Murphy is trying to get back to his feet but Liddel has full control of the position and if anything, Murphy has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Murphy has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Liddel.
Liddel wants to control the position but Murphy frees himself and scrambles - Liddel manages to regain control in side control.

A close second round but Fred Liddel will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fight stays on the outside here - Liddel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Liddel shoots in for a double leg but Murphy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Murphy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Liddel tries to clinch up
and Liddel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Murphy throws an overhand right that lands on Liddel's shoulder, as Liddel tries to avoid the shot.
Murphy throws a hook but Liddel blocks it.
A shot to the liver by Murphy. Beautiful body shot.
Liddel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Murphy's waist but Murphy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Liddel off to one side.
Liddel fails with a takedown attempt.
Brian Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Liddel.
Liddel takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Liddel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
