Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jex Midnight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Korey Reid!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid just misses with a punch to the body.
Midnight throws an off balance right hand
and Reid counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Reid stalks Midnight and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Midnight's face. Midnight staggers backwards, shaken.

Korey Reid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Midnight swings widly with a right hand
and Reid counters with a series of strikes. Midnight will be more careful next time no doubt.
Reid throws a combination that misses

and Midnight counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Midnight wants to free his trapped foot but Reid is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Midnight is trying to control the action in half guard but Reid is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Midnight is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Reid is just riding it out for now. Midnight eventually gives up the hold.

Midnight is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Midnight is looking to take a break and control but Reid is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Reid tries to lock up and control but Midnight gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Reid avoids a series of strikes thrown by Midnight.
Midnight tries to control but Reid wriggling away.
Reid is looking to improve his position but Midnight isn't that keen on the idea.
Midnight misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Midnight throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Midnight jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Reid manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Reid is not content to let Midnight control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Reid dodges the ground and pound from Midnight.

Midnight working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Midnight creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Reid sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Midnight is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Reid is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jex Midnight dominated that round.
That's time! Midnight's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Reid throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Midnight avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reid fails to land with a series of punches.
Reid will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Reid swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Korey Reid is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reid throws a combination that misses
letting Midnight counter with a right hand.
Reid throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Midnight counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Midnight throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Reid counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Midnight throws a looping overhand right but Reid ducks down to avoid it.
Reid falls off balance throwing a combination
and Reid takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Reid throws a series of punches but Midnight avoids them all with ease.

Reid goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Midnight swings widly with a right hand
and Reid counters with a three punch combo that has Midnight backing up. Midnight nods at Reid to acknowledge the strikes.
Reid stuns Midnight with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Reid throws a combination that misses

and Midnight counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Midnight is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Reid sees it coming and defends easily.
Reid throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Midnight is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Reid is looking to get to half guard.
Midnight looking to control but Reid is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Midnight sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Midnight forces the positional change into back control.
Reid prevents Midnight from getting a body triangle.

Midnight has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Reid has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Midnight has managed to slip his arm under Reid's chin. This could be all over... yep, Reid is tapping out! Submission win for Midnight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jex Midnight!
