Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Sullyvan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Sullyvan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Gibson! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sullyvan sprawls well. Sullyvan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gibson gets slowly back to his feet. Gibson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sullyvan counters with a straight right hand. Sullyvan misses with a hook. Gibson misses with a shot to the body and Sullyvan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gibson thinking. Gibson fails to land the takedown. Sullyvan swings widly with a right hand
and Gibson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Gibson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gibson trying to control the action but Sullyvan is working from the bottom. Sullyvan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gibson on the ground. Gibson moves nicely into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gibson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Gibson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Gibson working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sullyvan wants to get back to his feet. Gibson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gibson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Sullyvan is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gibson connects with a decent elbow. Gibson lands some shots froms side control. The ground and pound from Gibson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sullyvan dodges the ground and pound from Gibson. Gibson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Gibson in side control lands a decent elbow. Gibson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gibson tries to score with some ground and pound. Sullyvan controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Gibson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gibson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sullyvan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gibson throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sullyvan dodges the ground and pound from Gibson. Gibson trying to control the action but Sullyvan is working from the bottom. Gibson in side control, throwing shots but Sullyvan defends. The strikes coming from Gibson are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Gibson tries to move to mount but Sullyvan blocks the move with his legs. Gibson working the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The ground and pound from Gibson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The strikes coming from Gibson are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Gibson is looking to take a break and control but Sullyvan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gibson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sullyvan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Gibson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Gibson advances to full mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sullyvan avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gibson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gibson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Gibson dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Sullyvan looks to land a body kick but Gibson moved away. Sullyvan thuds his right hand into Gibson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Gibson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sullyvan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Gibson walks into a jab. Gibson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sullyvan moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gibson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sullyvan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gibson scrambles back to his feet. Sullyvan throws a body punch but Gibson moves out of range. Gibson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sullyvan tries to avoid it but Gibson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sullyvan to the ground. Sullyvan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gibson's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Gibson duly obliges.
It looks like Johnny Sullyvan has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gibson throws a left that rocks Sullyvan and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Gibson dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Sullyvan regain composure!
Sullyvan is rocked! Gibson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sullyvan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Oh Sullyvan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Gibson scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Sullyvan is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Gibson can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scott Gibson!
