Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinte takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Kinte really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
el magic sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Kinte to the ground! el magic dives into full mount looking to finish!
Kinte is rocked!
It looks like Kunta Kinte has been cut.
Kinte working to try and regain half guard.
el magic tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kinte is looking to improve his position but el magic isn't that keen on the idea.
el magic looking to control but Kinte is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kinte bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Kinte. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Kinte takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Kinte shoots in looking for a takedown. el magic tries to sprawl out of it but Kinte keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. el magic manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

el magic scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
el magic connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kinte. Kinte circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
el magic swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kinte.
el magic throws a front kick that sends Kinte stumbling back into the ropes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd cheers as el magic lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kinte doesn't seem phased though.

Kinte shoots in for a takedown but el magic shows good takedown defense.
Kinte takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kinte shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in el magic's guard.

Kinte moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Kinte closes this distance looking for a takedown but el magic circles away.
Crunch! el magic slams his shin into Kinte's torso.
Kinte throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around el magic's waist but el magic gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kinte off to one side.

Kinte will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kinte wants to work for an arm triangle but el magic is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
el magic tries to kick Kinte off but Kinte keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
el magic won't allow Kinte to pass to mount.
el magic looks like he's trying to stand up.

Kinte is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and el magic defends it well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Kinte shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts el magic as he jumps to the side.

Kinte takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
el magic has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
el magic pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kinte decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kinte is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Kinte is just content to waste time from the top position. el magic takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Kinte drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but el magic manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kinte has el magic in his guard.
el magic lands a couple of elbows.
el magic must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kinte lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for el magic!

Kinte throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for el magic because Kinte loaded up on that one.
Kinte goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now el magic is on top in guard.
el magic wants to get up but he can't break Kinte's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Kinte might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kinte is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kinte manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

el magic has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Kinte sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! el magic taps out!
