Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Cavalera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain comes to the cage accompanied by Step Up. Max Pain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Cavalera!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain wants to clinch but Cavalera slips to the side
and Cavalera cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cavalera avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cavalera throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pain throws a right hand that misses
and Cavalera counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Pain slips a jab and a cross from Cavalera.
Cavalera circles away from the clinch attempt
and Cavalera makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Cavalera takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Pain misses with an uppercut

and Cavalera counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cavalera tries to pass to full mount but Pain defends it.

Cavalera is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Pain is trying to stand back up but Cavalera is controlling him

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cavalera postures up in Pain's guard and throws a big left but Pain blocks it.

Pain is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Pain lands a shot to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pain.

Pain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Max Pain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cavalera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pain's waist but Pain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cavalera off to one side.

and Cavalera counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pain!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cavalera throws some wild stikes that Pain manages to avoid easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cavalera swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pain is now in Cavalera's guard. A big mistake from Cavalera there, giving up the dominant position!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cavalera is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Pain drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cavalera manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pain has Cavalera in his guard.

Pain tries to clinch

and Cavalera counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cavalera.
Pain wants to sweep here but Cavalera controlling him for the moment.
Pain avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Cavalera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pain swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pain pulls Cavalera in close to prevent any damage.

Cavalera moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Pain has worked his arm free - good work by Pain!

Cavalera goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Pain rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cavalera's guard! Nice work there by Pain!
Pain has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pain avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Pain drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cavalera looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cavalera looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cavalera!

Cavalera is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pain can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Cavalera goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Pain turns into him and now he's in Cavalera's guard.

Cavalera manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Pain wants to control but Cavalera is having none of it.

Cavalera is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Pain to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Pain shrugs it off.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pain is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
You get the feeling that Pain really doesn't like being in this position too much.

and Cavalera makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Cavalera has isolated one of Pain's arms. Pain looking to fight him off but Cavalera twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
