Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miko Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bako King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia comes to the cage accompanied by Bulls on Parade. Miko Maia has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Maia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. King shoots and misses and Maia counters with a straight right hand. King moves out of range of the strikes. Maia throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. King tries for a takedown but Maia circles away easily letting Maia counter with a right hand. Miko Maia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bako King. Maia misses with a hook to the body
and King counters with a single leg into guard. Maia didn't expect that. Maia looking for a sweep. Not yet Maia, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. King passes easily into side control. Nice work. King lands some shots froms side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. King misses with an attempted head punch from side control. King trying to control the action but Maia is working from the bottom. Maia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Maia looking for a sweep but King has passed into full mount! Oh no! King with a couple of short strikes. Maia is in all sorts of trouble here.
King breaks from Maia's wrist control and lands an elbow. King cracks Maia with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
It looks like Miko Maia has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! King raining down shots from the mount! Maia wants to control but King is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Maia can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

King postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Maia looks a forlorn figure.
King has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. King looking to control but Maia is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Maia is desperately trying to improve his position but King has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maia tries to hold on but King postures up. King tries to control but Maia wriggling away. King avoids the attempt from Maia to control. Maia tries to reverse the position but King maintains control. Maia tries to hold on but King pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, King cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
King lands a big shot there that rocks Maia but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Maia gets back to half guard. King wants to take a breather but Maia is having none of it. Maia is pressing down on King's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Maia has his foot on King's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. King works his way back into a safe position though. Maia preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Maia on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Maia tries to get out of the position. Maia can't keep his opponent in guard - King advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maia looking for submissions off his back. Nice strikes from King there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and King counters with a three punch combo that has Maia backing up. Maia nods at King to acknowledge the strikes. King fails with the takedown and Maia counters with a left to the body. King fails with the takedown and Maia counters with a nice uppercut. Maia throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. King shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Maia counters with a right hand to the body. Miko Maia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bako King. Some wild striking there from Maia.

King tries for a takedown but Maia circles away easily letting Maia counter with a right hand. Nice straight punches there by Maia. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Maia. King has his takedown stuffed and Maia counters with a straight punch to the midsection. King is breathing heavily.

A lazy left from Maia finds it's target. Bako King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maia cracks King with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Miko Maia is winning the standup battle so far. Maia swings widly with a right hand
and King counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Maia's jab looks to have found its range, popping King under the eye. King avoids the body shot from Maia.
Bako King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. King uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maia.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Maia tries to land a front kick but King steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Maia lands the left hand. Maia misses with a hook
and King counters with a nice double leg into guard. King trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Maia tries to land a sweep but no joy. King missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Maia wants to improve his position but instead King has moved into half guard.

King keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Maia. Maia throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
King has his takedown stuffed and Maia makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. King with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Maia to counter with a crisp jab. Maia jabs King to the body, keeping him at a distance. Maia fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maia with a body punch. A glancing blow. Maia tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but King was well out of range. Poor timing from Maia. Nice uppercut there from Maia. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maia takes a swing at King's ribcage but misses. King doesn't succeed with the takedown and Maia counters with a lovely straight right hand! Nice uppercut there from Maia. King uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Maia.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maia scores with a nice strike. Maia stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Maia scores with a sloppy right hand. King should have avoided that one. Maia lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. King has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. King misses with a takedown attempt and Maia connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Maia misses with a left hand and King counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Maia looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Maia moves into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. King throws a strike but Maia rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Maia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maia trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bako King has got the better of the ground game so far. Maia postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! King is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Maia, into his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Miko Maia showed his dominance in that final round. I think Maia has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
