Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tank Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida has chosen Funky Polak - Brat Bratu as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Lyoto Machida enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tank Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lyoto Machida!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Machida, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Machida with a lazy takedown attempt
and Johnson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Lyoto Machida has been cut.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Machida tries for a takedown but Johnson circles away easily
and Machida takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Johnson throws a leg kick but Machida sees it coming and moves out of range.
Johnson swinging wildly here.
Lyoto Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machida lands a head kick. Johnson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Machida napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Johnson misses with a wild combination.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Machida gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Machida tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Johnson is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Machida buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Machida!! Machida is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Johnson throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tank Johnson!
