Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh McRoberts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Brit! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brit throws a jab when McRoberts was well out of range. Brit is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McRoberts. Brit just misses with a punch to the body.

Johnny Brit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McRoberts closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. McRoberts is working for a submission of some sort.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brit defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Brit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brit manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brit looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. McRoberts is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A big left from Brit misses. No joy there for McRoberts, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and McRoberts counters with a nice low kick that buckles Brit's knee momentarily. McRoberts lands a nice shot that snaps Brit's head back.

Josh McRoberts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brit is breathing heavily. Brit is looking to chop away at McRoberts's legs. Brit on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McRoberts. McRoberts obviously looking to wear him down.
McRoberts shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brit sprawls well. Brit wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McRoberts gets slowly back to his feet. McRoberts defending well as Brit loads up on a big left hand. McRoberts will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

McRoberts is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That was a close second round but I would say that Josh McRoberts will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Josh McRoberts's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brit is trying to stand up here but McRoberts is controlling him well. Brit takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. McRoberts is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Brit is trying to stand up here but McRoberts is controlling him well. Brit is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Brit is in trouble now - McRoberts has advanced to mount! McRoberts misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. McRoberts throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

McRoberts is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Brit is defending well though. McRoberts let's go of the attempt for now. McRoberts controls the action. Brit preventing the rear naked choke attempt from McRoberts. Josh McRoberts overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Brit is having to fend off submission attempts from McRoberts, who is looking to sink in the choke. McRoberts doesn't have the hooks in though and Brit manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McRoberts working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Brit has passed into half guard!
Brit seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McRoberts does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Brit tries to stand and escape but McRoberts is controlling the position. McRoberts wants to control but Brit is keeping busy and won't allow it. Brit performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Brit thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McRoberts's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Brit is nestled in close to McRoberts, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. McRoberts is trying to stand.
Brit is looking to take a break and control but McRoberts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. McRoberts wants to control but Brit is keeping busy.
McRoberts gets full guard. Johnny Brit has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Josh McRoberts is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Brit throwing strikes from guard but McRoberts blocks nicely. Brit decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McRoberts, up you get!
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Johnny Brit. I think McRoberts has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
