Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Akula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy Bonjasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonjasky has chosen LP - Hit the floor as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Max Akula! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Remy Bonjasky! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bonjasky clinches up with Akula and pushes him back against the cage. Bonjasky breaks the clinch.
Bonjasky closes the distance looking to clinch and Akula counters with a nice uppercut. Bonjasky tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Akula manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A combination from Bonjasky does no damage. Bonjasky ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Akula moves away. Bonjasky closes the distance looking to clinch and Bonjasky takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Akula shoots in looking for a takedown but Bonjasky manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Akula's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bonjasky throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
so Akula counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Akula postures up in Bonjasky's guard and throws a big left but Bonjasky blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Akula postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bonjasky is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Akula, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akula is trying to keep Bonjasky in close.
Bonjasky would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Bonjasky got a little sloppy there for a moment and Akula has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bonjasky has managed to get both his arms back between Akula's legs - danger averted. Akula is breathing heavily. Akula working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bonjasky has passed into half guard!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Akula pushes Bonjasky off looking to stand but Bonjasky dives back in and keeps control.

Akula fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bonjasky avoids it really well and circles away. Bonjasky misses with a straight left.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bonjasky throws a series of punches but Akula avoids them all with ease. Bonjasky falls off balance throwing a combination
and Akula counters with a shoot takedown. Bonjasky fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Akula drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bonjasky manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Akula has Bonjasky in his guard. Akula is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Akula looking for a sweep. Not yet Akula, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akula wants to stand up but Bonjasky is controlling him. Bonjasky would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Bonjasky stands up from Akula's guard - Bonjasky perhaps looking for a knockout. Bonjasky misses with a hook. Akula ducked under it nicely. Akula showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bonjasky.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Akula dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Akula moves out of range as Bonjasky strikes. Bonjasky misses with a double jab.
Bonjasky tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Akula is able to avoid easily. Bonjasky looks to land a combination but Akula avoids it well. Akula shoots in looking for a takedown. Bonjasky tries to sprawl out of it but Akula keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bonjasky manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bonjasky stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bonjasky wants it to stay on the feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bonjasky misses with a takedown attempt and Akula counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bonjasky wants to get back to his feet. Bonjasky tries to roll over but Akula keeps him under control. Bonjasky is pressing down on Akula's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Akula trying to control but Bonjasky is working from the bottom. Akula has gone for a leg lock! Bonjasky slips out almost immediately though and dives into Akula's guard. Bonjasky avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bonjasky stands up from guard. Let's bang! Akula takes a jab right on the kisser.
Bonjasky scores with a push kick. Bonjasky lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Akula circles away quickly and effectively. Akula avoids the head kick by Bonjasky.
Bonjasky has managed to clinch.
Bonjasky pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bonjasky throws a sloppy head kick and Akula moves out of range easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bonjasky just misses with a punch to the body.
Bonjasky pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Akula back to the cage. Bonjasky follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Bonjasky leaves Akula with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Akula. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bonjasky misses with a looping right. Bonjasky looks to land a combination but Akula avoids it well. Bonjasky throws a low kick but Akula moves out of range easily. Bonjasky misses with a head kick.
Akula closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Akula lands in his opponent's guard. Akula drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bonjasky manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Akula has Bonjasky in his guard.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bonjasky can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bonjasky trying to control the position from guard on top but Akula is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Remy Bonjasky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Bonjasky instigates a clinch. Akula tries to score a body lock takedown but Bonjasky shows good agility there to stay on his feet. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Bonjasky. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Bonjasky misses with a knee to the head. Bonjasky comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Bonjasky is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Akula is defending well for now. Bonjasky comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Akula is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bonjasky is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bonjasky has escaped and now he's on top! Akula trying to control the position.

Akula throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bonjasky escapes and throws Akula's legs to the side, diving into side control! Bonjasky stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Bonjasky misses the jab. Bonjasky scores with a decent looking hook. Bonjasky shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Akula counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Bonjasky preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Akula drops back looking for a leg! Bonjasky is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bonjasky manages to kick Akula off! Akula jumps back into Bonjasky's guard. Bonjasky tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akula tries to free his leg and advance position but Bonjasky is retaining full guard. Akula drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bonjasky looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bonjasky looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bonjasky! Max Akula overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Akula is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Akula is looking to reverse the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Remy Bonjasky comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bonjasky has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
