Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Hobby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Kordic!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kordic wants to clinch.
Jab from Hobby.
Hobby darts in and clinches Kordic up against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Kordic fails to land.
Hobby prevents the takedown attempt.
Kordic is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hobby is keeping busy.
Kordic breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hobby scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
It looks like John Kordic has been cut.
Kordic uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hobby.
Kordic wants to clinch
and Hobby counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hobby avoids the head kick by Kordic.
Kordic takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kordic tries to clinch up
and Hobby counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kordic smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hobby throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Kordic tumbling to the canvas!
Kordic is rocked!
Kordic looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hobby puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Kordic is still in real trouble! Can Hobby finish him?
Kordic missing with punches from the bottom.
Kordic seems to have recovered his senses.
Kordic wants to get back to full guard.
Kordic trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Hobby takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kordic is trying to escape the mount.
Hobby stands up from mount. Strange move.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hobby misses with a body punch
and Kordic counters with a head kick.
Kordic fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hobby avoids it really well and circles away.
Kordic tries to keep at a distance but Hobby has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hobby looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Hobby breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hobby jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Kordic avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kordic shoots in for a takedown but Hobby shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bobby Hobby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Kordic.
Hobby slaps away a takedown attempt from Kordic, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hobby fails to land with a series of punches.
Hobby with a hook.

Kordic wants to clinch but Hobby slips to the side
and Hobby counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kordic thinking.
Kordic looks gassed!
Kordic darts in trying to clinch
and Hobby counters with a stiff right hand.
Hobby misses the shot to the body.
Kordic gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Kordic tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Hobby is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Kordic buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Kordic!! Kordic is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Hobby throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Hobby!
