The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cable with a lazy takedown attempt
and Sambo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cable closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cable is trying to get an arm triangle but Sambo is defending well.
Cable thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Cable working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Cable is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sambo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cable tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cable is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sambo has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sambo parries the strikes from Cable easily there. Cable is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sambo to escape.
Cable tries for a kimura but Sambo is defending well.

Cable trying to control the position but Sambo is working away.
Cable has hold of Sambo's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sambo seems comfortable defending it but Cable has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sambo is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sambo is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Cable couldn't care less - he's delighted!
