Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Yen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Jackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Donnie Yen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Donnie Yen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hugh Jackman! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yen misses with a low kick. Jackman blocks a head kick by Yen.
Yen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jackman to score an easy takedown into full guard. Jackman postures up.
Jackman controls from within his opponent's guard. Jackman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yen swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yen being controlled here, momentarily. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Yen throws a front kick aimed at Jackman's knee but Jackman avoids it well. Yen throws a combination that misses and Jackman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jackman is looking to advance position but Yen has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Jackman is squirming around, avoiding Yen's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yen throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Jackman is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Jackman bucks Yen off and manages to get back to his feet! Jackman swings away with a leg kick that misses. Yen throws a low kick, looking for Jackman's leg but Jackman calmly moves out of range. Jackman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Yen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Yen is pressing down on Jackman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jackman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Yen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jackman is controlling him. Yen throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Yen being controlled here, momentarily. Jackman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. I looks like Jackman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Hugh Jackman hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Yen throws a head kick but Jackman moves out of range.
Jackman lands a left and a right that sends Yen crashing to the canvas! Jackman dives into mount looking to finish! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugh Jackman dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hugh Jackman's cut. That's time! Yen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Yen avoids a kick to the body.
Jackman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Yen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Yen is trying to stand up here but Jackman is controlling him well. Jackman wants to free his trapped foot but Yen is holding on for dear life with his legs. Yen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jackman is working away from the top position though. Well, if Jackman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Jackman jabs Yen right on the nose. Yen blinks but takes it well. Jackman gets the takedown into side control. Yen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Yen struggling a bit here. Yen wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Jackman decides to stand back up. Jackman steps back and let's Yen get back to his feet. Yen misses with a looping right. Jackman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Yen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackman is one step ahead there. Jackman stays in close to Yen's body and controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hugh Jackman has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Yen swings and misses with a shot to the body and Jackman counters with a shoot takedown. Yen fights it but they end up in guard. Jackman showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Jackman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Jackman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yen is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Yen is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yen won't allow Jackman to pass to mount. Jackman is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hugh Jackman was stalling too much, according to the referee. Yen connects with a high kick. Yen misses with a telegraphed body shot
so Jackman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackman looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Yen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jackman looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Yen lands a leg kick that knocks Jackman off balance momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jackman counters with a single leg into guard. Yen didn't expect that. Jackman tries to free his leg and advance position but Yen is retaining full guard. Jackman sitting in guard here, content to control. Jackman wants to pass the guard but Yen is keeping the position. Jackman is stalling in the full guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Yen working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Jackman has passed into half guard!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackman keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Yen regains full guard. Nicely done. Hugh Jackman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hugh Jackman has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yen keeping full guard, as Jackman tries to pass. Yen trying to keep a closed guard but Jackman is proving a slippery customer.
And that's the end of the fight! Hugh Jackman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jackman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
