Machida comes into the arena with Brazilian Death blaring out of the sound system. Sarah Northcote has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Machida. That snapped Northcote's head back.
Machida connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Northcote's hands.

It looks like Sarah Northcote has been cut.
Northcote thows a leg kick but Machida checks it
and Machida counters with a two punch combo.

Machida lands a left and a right that send Northcote crashing to the mat, dazed. Machida thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Northcote is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Machida throws an off balance right hand

so Northcote counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Machida looking to hit a scissor sweep but Northcote is one step ahead there.
Northcote looking to pass the guard.
Northcote trying to control but Machida is working from the bottom.
Northcote pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Machida is keeping the position for now.
Machida pulls Northcote in close to his closed guard and prevents Northcote from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Machida swings for the body but Northcote moves out of range.
Dameon Machida is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Northcote uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Machida.

Machida closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Northcote wants a takedown but no success here.
Machida lands with a short shot to the head.

Machida manages to break the clinch.
Northcote on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Machida. Machida obviously looking to wear him down.
Machida sizes up Northcote with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Machida has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Northcote should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Machida has tightened it up now! Northcote should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
