Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Fridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Kaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, The Fridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Big Kaz!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fridge scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kaz is trying to stand up here but Fridge is controlling him well.

Kaz has one foot on Fridge's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Fridge throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kaz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fridge is in Kaz's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. The Fridge wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Kaz is looking to clinch but Fridge is avoiding it.

Kaz lands a nice hook to Fridge's body. Fridge takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Fridge shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kaz's guard.
Fridge passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Fridge seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kaz for as long as he can get away with.

Fridge is trying to get an arm triangle but Kaz is defending well.
Fridge is breathing heavily.
Fridge controls the position from side control.
Kaz is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Fridge tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kaz's legs.
Fridge slows the pace down.
Fridge advances to mount.
Fridge is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kaz can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fridge takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kaz is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Fridge is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kaz to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kaz shrugs it off.

Kaz is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up. The Fridge wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Fridge scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kaz wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Fridge is staying tight to Kaz's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Fridge cracks Kaz with an elbow. That is naaassty.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Fridge dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Fridge shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kaz's guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fridge's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Fridge is pushing down on Kaz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kaz is fighting to maintain full guard but Fridge has managed to sneak the leg through.
Kaz is trying to stand back up but Fridge is controlling him

Fridge looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Fridge works his way into side control.
Fridge is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fridge has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Fridge takes a little break here. Kaz wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The Fridge overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The Fridge has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Fridge throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kaz was covering up waiting for the punch and Fridge finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kaz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fridge controls the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because The Fridge wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Fridge shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kaz is trying to defend but Fridge finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Fridge decides to return to a standing position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fridge feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kaz wants to stand but Fridge is controlling the position.
Fridge distracts Kaz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Fridge content to stall in guard here.
Fridge won't allow Kaz to get back to his feet.

Fridge is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We're going to have a standup here because The Fridge wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Fridge shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kaz is trying to defend but Fridge finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Fridge takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kaz is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fridge passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kaz wants to try and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Fridge dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Kaz wants to clinch but Fridge slips to the side

and Fridge counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kaz!
Kaz wants to try and get back to his feet.

Fridge wants to finish this one by submission but Kaz is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Fridge.
Fridge breaks from Kaz's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fridge looking to secure an arm triangle but Kaz defends it well.
Kaz wants to try and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fridge landing strikes from the mount and Kaz is in trouble!
Fridge content just to control the position here.
Kaz's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Fridge forces the positional change into back control.
Kaz is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Fridge looking for the choke but no joy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fridge controls the action.
Kaz holding both Fridge 's hands and preventing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fridge has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Kaz's body.
Kaz trying to get back to his feet but Fridge is in full control for now.
What can Kaz do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of The Fridge.
Fridge slips a jab and a cross from Kaz.

Fridge taking a breather here.

And that's the end of the fight!
The Fridge showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fridge, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
