Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, maurisyo ruwa!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Johnson. Those never looked like landing.
ruwa doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Johnson missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Johnson wants to free his trapped foot but ruwa is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Johnson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for ruwa!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson tries to control but ruwa wriggling away.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
ruwa is bucking up trying to escape but Johnson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
ruwa looks gassed!
Johnson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. ruwa can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Johnson content just to control the position here.

Johnson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Johnson is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Johnson misses with a left hand
and ruwa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.
Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Johnson lands a big shot there that rocks ruwa but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Johnson quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Johnson but it's paid off an ruwa is forced to tap! Nice work by Johnson.
