Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Wheeler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Jayhawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Wheeler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Jayhawk! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jayhawk avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jayhawk clinches. Jayhawk fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jayhawk wants a takedown.
Jayhawk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wheeler drives through with a takedown into guard. Jayhawk has his foot on Wheeler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wheeler works his way back into a safe position though. Wheeler looking to pass the guard. Wheeler wants to control from the top but Jayhawk keeps moving. Jayhawk looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wheeler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wheeler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Wheeler trying to control the position from guard on top but Jayhawk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jayhawk is trying to control the position but Wheeler postures up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jayhawk takes the fight into the clinch. Jayhawk tries to stall but Wheeler uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Wheeler tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jayhawk just stands there and leans against the cage. Jayhawk is trying to break the clinch but Wheeler has him pressed against the cage. Wheeler drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jayhawk gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jayhawk jumps guard and drags Wheeler to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jayhawk throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jayhawk working a defensive guard but Wheeler manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jayhawk tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wheeler wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jayhawk manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wheeler's best efforts. Jayhawk looks gassed! Jayhawk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Wheeler is looking to pass Jayhawk's guard but actually Jayhawk recovers to full guard. Wheeler gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Wheeler looks for a takedown but Jayhawk sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Wheeler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wheeler looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jayhawk looking for submissions off his back. Jayhawk wants to improve his position but Wheeler is controlling well.
Wheeler is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jayhawk defends it well. Jayhawk wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wheeler throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Wheeler looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Jayhawk keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Wheeler is keen to just control but Jayhawk is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wheeler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jayhawk clinches up with Wheeler and pushes him back against the cage. Wheeler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Jayhawk. No joy for Wheeler on that attempt. Jayhawk should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Wheeler fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jayhawk changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wheeler tries to avoid it but Jayhawk manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wheeler to the ground. Wheeler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Wheeler has his takedown stuffed and Jayhawk counters into the clinch. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Josh Wheeler will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Wheeler shoots in and drives through. Jayhawk sprawls well. Jayhawk tries for a takedown but Wheeler circles away easily and Wheeler counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wheeler controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Jayhawk keeping moving, preventing Wheeler from controlling successfully. Wheeler tries to free his leg and advance position but Jayhawk is retaining full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jayhawk is on top in guard.
Jayhawk postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wheeler is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jayhawk, into his guard. Jayhawk is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wheeler passes Jayhawk's left leg - he's now in half guard. Jayhawk has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wheeler is working away from the top position though. Wheeler is trying to work for a kimura but Jayhawk is defending well.
Wheeler lands with a punch from half guard. Jayhawk tries to roll over but Wheeler keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wheeler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jayhawk with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Wheeler decides to stand up. Wheeler with a poor takedown and Jayhawk counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Wheeler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jayhawk to the mat! Jayhawk manages to get full guard. Wheeler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jayhawk pushes Wheeler off and gets back to his feet.
Wheeler gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jayhawk drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jayhawk jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Wheeler can't keep his opponent in guard - Jayhawk advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Jayhawk is trying to control the action in half guard but Wheeler is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Jayhawk missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jayhawk slows the pace down in half guard. Jayhawk is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jayhawk decides to return to a standing position. Jayhawk has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jayhawk tries to score a body lock takedown but Wheeler shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Jayhawk tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Josh Wheeler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua Jayhawk. Wheeler letting Jayhawk take a breather here. Wheeler wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Wheeler is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. The is referee keeping an eye on Jayhawk - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Wheeler dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Jayhawk scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Jayhawk trying to control the position but Wheeler is working away. Jayhawk lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Wheeler down.
Wheeler defending against the ground and pound. Jayhawk decides to stand back up. Wheeler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wheeler showed some decent athleticism there. Jayhawk gets back to full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jayhawk looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jayhawk is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jayhawk working a defensive guard but Wheeler passes into half guard.
Wheeler thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Wheeler thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Jayhawk to regain full guard. Jayhawk looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wheeler is one step ahead there. Jayhawk manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Wheeler trying to control the position but Jayhawk is working away. Jayhawk is trying to get back to his feet. Wheeler won't allow Jayhawk to get back to his feet. Wheeler slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Jayhawk is looking for a sweep. Jayhawk regains half guard there - taking advantage of Wheeler's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Wheeler is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jayhawk!

Jayhawk is squirming around, avoiding Wheeler's attempts to control the action. Wheeler landing strikes from the mount. Jayhawk is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jayhawk is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Wheeler looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Jayhawk tries to reverse the position but Wheeler maintains control. Jayhawk bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Jayhawk passes into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Joshua Jayhawk. I think Wheeler has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
