The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell misses with a wild body shot.
Maxwell throws a jab when Chiba was well out of range.

Maxwell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Chiba backs up against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Chiba tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chiba has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Maxwell is trying to get back to half guard.
Chiba wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Maxwell, who protects the arm well.

Chiba has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Maxwell is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Chiba yanks on the arm and Maxwell is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Chiba.
