Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Sarai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacques Mehoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephen Sarai has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stephen Sarai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacques Mehoff! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mehoff chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Sarai with a lazy takedown attempt and Mehoff counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Mehoff waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sarai. Mehoff with a jab. Sarai closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mehoff to the mat! Mehoff manages to get full guard. Sarai wants to control from the top but Mehoff keeps moving. Sarai forces his way into half guard. Mehoff is trying to stand.
Mehoff makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Sarai shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mehoff cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sarai gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mehoff counters with a stiff right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stephen Sarai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mehoff gets caught flat footed, as Sarai shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Sarai thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Sarai is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Sarai is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mehoff is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mehoff has escaped and now he's on top! Sarai wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mehoff would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sarai has an active guard here but Mehoff has managed to pass into half guard.
Mehoff wants to stand up but Sarai has a hold of him and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sarai actively working from the bottom here. Sarai actively working from the bottom here. Sarai is breathing heavily. Sarai looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mehoff is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Mehoff really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sarai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sarai works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mehoff has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sarai to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mehoff is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sarai pulls down on the head and he's put Mehoff to sleep! This one is all over!
